Do you find yourself thinking ahead? Do you often describe yourself as an over-thinker?

The trouble with overthinking and thinking ahead is that it seems to rob us of the present moment. However, apart from the loss of being able to appreciate the present, the issue is how much time we spend in the ‘imagination land’ of ‘what if’ thinking.

Here’s my challenge to you ( and probably myself too!), next time you get caught up in ‘what if’ thinking, I want you to stop and notice if you are thinking positively or negatively. Go on stop and notice for a moment

Too often ‘what if’ thinking takes us the imagination land of NEGATIVITY.

Now ask yourself what if my ‘what if’ thinking could shift to the imagination land of POSITIVITY?

Perhaps if we spent some time in positive ‘what if’ thinking we would become amazing children’s writers describing scenes like Roald Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ with chocolate rivers, magical Viking boat rides with chanting Oompa Loompas. And, anyway, imagine if Charlie had spent some time in the land of negative imagination, he would never have bought the chocolate bar containing the golden ticket that gained him entry into the magical world of the Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.

‘What if’ thinking dwells in imagination land, so, next time you are tempted to over-think, make sure that you spend your time in the imagination land of positivity, or better still in the land of Possibilities.

Until next time.

Positively yours
