Counselling for Communication helps you Communicate Better
Do you struggle communicating your needs? Are there problems in your communications with others? We all experience communication problems and conflict management. How you communicate determines the kind of world in which you live. If you communicate in hostile, oppositional, reactive, problem-oriented and self-focused ways you create a world for yourself and others of conflict, stress and unhappiness. If you learn to communicate in collaborative and constructive ways, you create a world for yourself and others of less stress, improved relationships and more happiness where problems can be solved creatively and differences can be explored appreciatively. What would you prefer?
When should you seek communication counselling?
Communication difficulties and conflict management problems can interfere with your ability to address issues in your life, leaving you feeling stuck. Poor communication can mean unresolved differences of opinion and bad feelings leading to further misunderstandings, disagreements, splits and conflicts or avoidance of communication for fear of further conflict and put-downs.
In relationships, you may feel trapped in unhelpful problematic communication patterns you do not want with much criticising, blaming, ignoring and wishing for help to improve things as you’ve run out of ideas.
You may be experiencing problems communicating your emotions and needs and feeling that no-one wants to hear you and no-one really cares and you don’t deserve to be heard.
Some communication problems can have their roots in childhood where you learn ways of communicating within your family.
Communication problems can affect almost every part of your life, and at every level of society.
If you feel that you’re struggling to communicate with others or that your communication ability is becoming a burden in your life and relationships, or that there are significant communication issues in your relationship(s), then please get in touch with our specialists. We’ll assist you in finding new ways of interacting and provide you with helpful communication tools and frameworks.
Allow us to reassure you that professional help is at hand. We offer services that aim to reduce the fear and uncertainty about getting help. Arrange an initial consultation ‘taster’ session to discuss your needs, in privacy and comfort, to obtain a sense of how we help and for if this is the right direction for you.
And the day came when the risk (it took) to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
What our previous clients have said
I experienced severe trauma and developed a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder which meant I wasn’t coping well with day to day life. With CBT Therapy at Possibilities, I’ve made a number of positive changes. It was a struggle at times but my psychotherapist helped me feel safe and capable as we worked through things. I’m now back at work and my confidence is growing. I have a life again. I’m so glad I took that scary first step and called. If you’re feeling unsure, I highly recommend you call them too.

I thought my life wasn’t worth living. My depression convinced me I was worthless and useless and my situation was hopeless. If you’re feeling something similar, go to Possibilities. They made an enormous difference to my life and they can do the same for you.

My relationship with my partner has vastly improved. We’re more able to communicate and we’re spending more time together and having fun! I can’t believe we were on the verge of separating when we contacted Possibilities as a last resort. I can’t thank them enough.

Possibilities was outstanding. I’ve overcome my anxiety and have the tools to keep it at bay should I need them in the future.

Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it.
